The XC Consulting Process is a snap shot of what you can expect when working with me. I have taken on clients from a wide-range of industries with varying challenges. 1. Schedule a Call
The discovery call is for me to learn more about your business and current challenges. The focus of the call is to define mutually agreed upon goals, deliverables, and deadlines. When you’re ready to move forward, you can purchase a service package and sign the contract to initiate our work together.
2. Initiate Discovery
Once the contract is signed, a kickoff call is scheduled for me to meet the working group and share key milestones and deliverables for the engagement. I will conduct deep dive calls to better understand processes and collect corresponding source material, such as, organization charts, process maps, and other resources. Based on this research, I will establish how your company currently assigns tasks, defines job responsibilities, and shares information.
3. Create Action Plan
Once I have established the current state of the organization with regards to people, processes, roles and responsibilities, and tools, I will provide you with detailed insights and recommendations. These recommendations will cover short-term, next steps and long-term strategies. We will have a video call to go over the findings and discuss ways to put them into action.
4. Create Deliverables
Sample deliverables include:
Documented Business Processes - I will complete the recommendations in the action plan with the primary deliverable being a documented business process. It typically takes about 10-20 hours to document a new process; time required is highly dependent on the quality of the source information, access to key stakeholders, and the number of revisions.
Systems Implementation - For many clients, I also recommend, set up, and populate software that lets them effectively share their business processes internally. Example tools include project management (Asana and Teamwork), business process management (Process St. and Tallyfy), and wiki (UseWhale and Nuclino).
Process Playbook - I will create a customized "how to" guide for your business. The Process Playbook will cover how to maintain your documentation and systems all on your own. As an added benefit, this will also empower your team to update and improve upon processes as things change in the business.
5. Provide Ongoing Advisory Support
I will advise you on key challenges in your operations with regards to people, process, tools, roles and responsibilities. You’ll receive weekly progress reports and an accounting of all billed hours to recap insights and recommendations.
